Very much a city workers pub, the bar is split level as indeed the whole pub seems to be, from the couple of steps down from street level to a couple more backup to the bar. Very popular with city office workers and labourers alike and it’s not the sole domain of men either. The décor is modern, with some high seating on the ground level and more trandition on the other levels. The menu is burgers and chips type but there's something for everyone and the prices are cheap. I would highly recommend this pub for anyone who wants a current view of working class (or at least people who see themselves are working class) within the City of London. The atmosphere has alway been fiendly on my visits, as are the bar staff, I don't know what it is about this pub, but I like it. Previously called the City
of London Yeoman and the Goose, although I don't know any more details. |
