Tucked away at the top
of New Street, just yards from Liverpool Street station on the Bishopsgate
side you will find The Magpie. Nicholson's has fifty or so traditional
pubs in and around central London and a few in the City, this
is a good example of what you would expect to find from a
name which has been in the pub business since 1873. Service is
swift and pleasant even when very busy and it goes get very busy,
the food is the excellent Nicholson's range. The surroundings are traditional
pub, wooden floor, dark walls, there are some stools near to the window
and tasteful lighting. The clientele are predominantly middle aged, middle
management male City workers.
and guest ales, I was lucky enough to visit when Tribute from the St.
Austell Brewery was 'guesting', perfect. Being Cask Marque accredited the beer is excellent, Fullers London Pride, Timothy Taylor's Landlord If you are looking to relax and enjoy a slow pint in this award winning pub then best visit early in the week, things get very busy in the later part and you will be lucky to find a space to put you beer down. |
